Weaving the Tapestry of Your Life: Yoga, Dharma, and Soma

“The Church says: the body is a sin.
Science says: the body is a machine.
Advertising says: The body is a business.
The Body says: I am a fiesta.”
– Eduardo Galeano

Yoga can be approached as an endless effort to perfect the body, or it can be done to liberate the body in order to find a shortcut to the Spirit. Join Katchie Ananda for the second approach, celebrate a fiesta of the body, through yoga, dharma, and soma. Learn how to become a master weaver of your life’s tapestry with wisdom and grace.

Step Into Your Power: Waking the Buddha in The Sangha

In this class we take issues from the intellectual level into the physical level where it can be felt and experienced. As information is processed through the body, it becomes “real” and has the capacity to tell us whether this is “our” task to take on. Action taken in the world coming from this cellular place has a different effect then action taken because of feelings that we “should” do something. Thus we become an empowered and embodied agent for change in the world.

Through the simple but elegant concept of becoming the blessing we seek, we can cause a profound shift in our lives and turn the concept of lack into an immediate experience of fullness. A mindful class for students who are interested in developing their own healthy practice and who like chanting and unexpected asanas.

Dharma Yoga Practice: A Mind Like Sky

This class combines traditional practices of Buddhist mindfulness meditation and yoga to help us embody the amazement of being alive and human. Periods of meditation will alternate with yoga (some hip-openers and restoratives), allowing the techniques to support each other and create a sense of mind-body connection, vitality, and well-being. An exploration of Buddhist and Yogic philosophy, and is appropriate for both experienced and beginning students of either mindfulness meditation or yoga.

All of Katchie’s workshops can be used as Continuing Education Contact Hours with the Yoga Alliance.
