Lalit hold a Master Degree In Yoga Education. He began studying at traditional Indian yoga schools known as Gurukulams at the age of 7 and he is honored to have studied yoga under some of the most well-known and respected yoga Masters in India. Lalit was initiated by Swami Veda Bharti of the Himalayan tradition in 2003. He has spent nearly a decade studying numerous traditional styles and disciplines at various Ashrams in North and South India. He studied Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore at Shri KPJYI Ashtanga Yoga Nilaya and Shri Parakala Mutt OF Mysore. Lalit has a spent his formative spiritual years at Swami Ram Sadak Gurukulam in Rishikesh. He also has studied under Sri BKS Iyengar and Sri K Pattabhi Jois, Sri Sharath Jois and Sri BNS Iyengar in Mysore.

These days, Lalit continues to train in the Mysore tradition under the guidance of Sharath Jois. Meanwhile, Lalit runs the Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre in Cork, teachers workshops around the world, and holds numerous yoga retreats in India and Goa.

The Art of Back-Bending

Lalit’s Back-Bending Workshop allows you the opportunity to learn to backbend with strength and integrity. Find more space in your back-bends while developing safe preparatory back-bending skills that you can incorporate into your own practice. Included in the workshop are a combination of heart opening and lower back-bending postures that build strength and flexibility. Lalit will assist students who are open to receiving adjustments into deeper poses.

The Art of Hip-Opening

Lalit’s Hip Opening Workshop is designed for those wishing to gain the skills to practice advanced hip opening asana and deepen their existing practice.  The hips hold tension and become tight from daily repetitive activities such as sitting at office desks and driving.  Tight hips can lead to lower back pain and imbalances throughout the rest of the body.  By exploring hip opening postures and deepening your existing hip opening poses, Lalit will help you release energy and tension in this area and improve your overall asana practice.

Applied Yoga Philosophy in Your Practice

In this lecture, Yogacharya Lalit will introduce students to the foundational aspects of the Yoga Sutras and the 8 Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga as codified by Patanjali. Lalit will be exploring how students can apply and integrate the ancient wisdom of the sages of Yoga philosophy in India, into their practise and modern day life.
